Bangladesh on Thursday regretted the execution of deposed Iraqi president Saddam Hussein on the day of Eid-ul-Azha and hoped that efforts would be made by all concerned to promote peace and reconciliation in the strife-torn country.
A government spokesman said, "The people and the government of Bangladesh regretted that this did happen on a day, holy to the entire Islamic world."
