Bush Acknowledges U.S. Decisions Increased Iraqi Instability


President Bush has acknowledged that decisions made by his administration have contributed to the instability in Iraq.

In an interview Friday with a U.S. television network, (CBS), Mr. Bush said history will find ways the United States could have done things better; but, he said his decision to remove Saddam Hussein from office was correct.

The full interview will be broadcast in the U.S. Sunday night on CBS' "60 Minutes" news magazine program.

While he conceded the U.S. has found no weapons of mass destruction in Iraq, Mr. Bush said the U.S. liberated Iraq from a tyrant. The president said he believes most Iraqis are grateful to the United States.

The president also said he watched portions of the video taken at the execution of Saddam Hussein. Mr. Bush said he thought the Iraqis could have handled it better.
