Bangladesh Foreign Affairs Adviser Leaves Dhaka for NY


The foreign affairs adviser of Bangladesh caretaker government, Dr. Iftekhar Ahmed Choudhury has left Dhaka on his way to New York.

Dr. Choudhury said that during his meetings with top UN officials including its Secretary General Ban Ki Moon, Dhaka will seek increased participation of Bangladesh troops in UN Peace Keeping Missions. Dr. Chowdhury is expected to meet Ban Ki Moon either on February 27 or 28 to hand over instrument on the UN Convention Against Corruption to UN Secretary General.

Dr. Chowdhury told newsmen at Zia International Airport prior to his departure that the prevailing political situation of Bangladesh will figure prominently in his talks with the UN Secretary General and others.
