At least two people were killed and more than 100 injured when a fire broke out at the Bangladesh Steel and Engineering Corporation Bhaban at Karwan Bazar in the Bangladeshi capital Dhaka on Monday morning.
The injured, most of whom sustained minor burns and suffered from suffocation, were admitted to different hospitals and some other clinics and hospitals.
Equipment of three private television channels, the NTV, the RTV and the Islamic TV, which are housed in the building, was burnt to ashes, so were the offices of a number of private companies. The television channels have been off air since the incident.
The reason for the fire could not be ascertained immediately.
