US Department of State just released their 2006 Human Rights Report. Dr. Faustina Pereira spoke about the report in this interview.
Dr. Faustina Pereira is a lawyer from Bangladesh and a member of the Supreme Court of Bangladesh. She is one of the directors of a human rights organization in Bangladesh Ain-o-Shalish Kendra. Dr. Pereira earned her Ph.D. in International Human Rights Law from University of Notre Dame Law School, Indiana.
Dr. Pereira feels the report is an important document with regard to the human rights situation in Bangladesh. She said that the views held and often expressed by the human rights advocates and activists and human rights organizations working in Bangladesh are reflected in this report.
