Police last night arrested 10 suspected cadres of Jama’atul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB), a banned Islamic outfit, at Sadar and Shibganj upazilas in Chapainawabganj. The arrestees --Abdur Rahim, Yusuf Ali, Kayes Uddin, Abdul Jalil, Masud Rana, Kafil Uddin, Abdul Alim, Karim, Mostafa and Motleb alias Masud -- were taken into custody.
They were undergoing interrogation, police sources said. Police Super Mokhlesur Rahman said secret information suggested that they might carry out subversive activity. Some of them were arrested following August 17, 2005 series of bombing countrywide but set freed later as investigation did not find their involvement.
