The army-led joint forces searched Hawa Bhaban, the BNP chairperson’s office, at Banani early Friday and seized documents including computer hard disks.
The police and staff of the Hawa Bhaban said that the forces went to the bhaban at around midnight Thursday and left the place at about 6:00am Friday. An employee, Rezaul, was present during the late night raid of the Hawa Bhaban, which, many believed, was a centre of power during the rule of the BNP-led alliance.
They searched the rooms on every floor in presence of the bhaban’s security guards and seized the documents. The documents included four files, 22 compact discs and two computer hard disks, the police said. A list of the documents, seized from the office, was handed over to the employees of the Hawa Bhaban, the police said.
