West Bengal government of India has recently announced that the inoperative tea gardens of the state will be activated again. The tea gardens in question have been shut down mainly because of labor problems.
Tea planter Tuhin Das of Kolkata spoke about the related problems of tea industry in India. Educated at The Cambridge University in Economics and Law, Das comes from West Bengal's five generation tea plantation family and has been in this business all his life.
