Fakhruddin Looks at Increasingly Potential Role of SAARC

The chief advisor to the interim government, Fakhruddin Ahmed, has described the just-concluded 14th SAARC summit in New Delhi as productive and proactive that would significantly help the regional forum move along the pledged objectives of creating a better livelihood for the vast multitude living in the most densely populated area in the world.

The Chief advisor was speaking to the Chief Editor of Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha Jaglul Ahmed Chowdhury after the SAARC Summit concluded at New Delhi, the Indian capital.

Fakhruddin said that the forum is moving away from rhetoric and is now increasingly swinging into multi-dimensional socio-economic programs that will greatly contribute to the concerted quest for a happier and healthier South Asia.

Fakhruddin returned to Dhaka Thursday night after leading the Bangladesh delegation to the two-day conference of eight heads of state and government of the region.
