BNP secretary general Abdul Mannan Bhuiyan on Saturday brushed aside the possibilities that Khaleda Zia was planning to bring in a new secretary-general.
Bhuiyan read out a written statement before a gathering of some BNP leaders and workers at his Gulshan home in the noon following reports of an imminent change of BNP's second most important leader. In an exclusive interview with VOA Bangla Service Bhuiyan said that at this point when some cleansing process is going on in the party no one should be mislead.
Abdul Mannan Bhuiyan was commenting on the claims made by former jute minister retired Brigadier Hannan Shah on Friday that former prime minister Khaleda Zia would overhaul her party and remove its secretary general. Hannan , an advisor to Khaleda Zia reiterated this while giving his comments to VOA.
