The High Court in Bangladesh did not accept a writ petition on Sunday aimed at protecting former prime minister Sheikh Hasina from arrest or harassment on her return from abroad. The writ rejection was due to technical reason.
It was said that the power of attorney was not duly delegated. Hasina's representative Manzila Faruque tried to file the petition with the bench of Justice Shah Abu Naim Mominur Rahman and Justice Zubair Rahman Chowdhury. Barrister Shafique Ahmed stood in for Hasina, who is now in London. Speculations continue to raise that Sheikh Hasina may be arrested when she returns to Bangladesh.
