Iraqi officials say a suicide bomber has struck a crowd of police recruits west of Baghdad, killing at least 15 people.
Authorities say the blast Saturday in the town of Abu Ghraib, on the outskirts of the Iraqi capital, injured more than 20 people.
In other news, the US military says Iraqi forces detained six suspects in Radwaniyah thought to be linked to al-Qaida.
It said the raids west of Baghdad Friday were aimed at disrupting al-Qaida operations responsible for vehicle bomb attacks in the capital.
The military also announced Iraqi and US forces arrested 33 suspected terrorists during house-to-house searches in Lutifiyah, south of Baghdad, on April 26th.
