M Saifur Rahman , the former Finance Minister and a BNP stalwart Saturday joined other top critics from BNP in leading a fight against all-powerful party chief Khaleda Zia and her family's grip on the party.
In the meantime, Osman Faruque , another BNP leader and a former Education Minister blasted against Khaleda for appointing her own brother Eskander as the vice-chairperson of the party.
Saifur termed this appointment as a “bolt from the blue.” He said that politics in Bangladesh should be freed from family interest .
Saifur blamed the party's wrong decisions in stacking the Iajuddin caretaker administration with people of its choice for its predicament today.
He claimed he had voiced his support at party forum for appointment of Justice Mahmudul Amin Chowdhury as chief advisor, but everybody turned a deaf ear to it.
