Cheney, Egypt's Mubarak Discuss Iraq

US Vice President Dick Cheney met in Cairo on Sunday with Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak for talks on Iraq and other issues.

An advisor to Cheney called the discussions wide-ranging. Cheney also met with Egyptian Defense Minister Mohamed Hussein Tantawi.

After the meetings, Cheney flew back to Jordan, where he will have dinner with King Abdullah and the US ambassador to Jordan ,David Hale.

Cheney is on a Middle East tour seeking international support for efforts to stabilize Iraq. His discussions with Middle East leaders also have been aimed at countering what he calls Iran's move to dominate the region.

He has already stopped in Iraq, Saudi Arabia, and Abu Dhabi.
