Fifteen influential US Senators, including Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton (Democrat-New York), Senator John Kerry (Democrat-Boston), Senator Edward Kennedy (Democratic-Massachusetts) and Senator Joseph Lieberman (Democrat-Connecticut) have requested the caretaker government of Bangladesh to announce the roadmap of a free, fair and impartial election within the next two months.
In the letter to Chief Adviser Dr Fakhruddin Ahmed on Tuesday, the US Senators also urged the caretaker government to ensure full freedom of the citizens and restore political rights of the people by withdrawing the state of emergency as early as possible.
