The Israeli military has launched more attacks on Hamas targets in the Gaza Strip in a wave of air strikes aimed at stopping rocket fire into Israel.
At least seven Palestinians have been killed in a series of strikes in Gaza Friday, but militants continued to fire rockets into southern Israel, causing some injuries but no deaths.
On Thursday, Israeli air strikes killed at least six Palestinians.
The strikes come as rival Palestinian factions Hamas and Fatah battled for a sixth day in the Gaza Strip. At least three people were killed on Friday. Clashes also erupted near the pro-Hamas Islamic University in Gaza City. More than 45 people have been killed since the latest round of factional clashes broke out Sunday.
Hamas militants detained a journalist for Abu Dhabi television, but he was released unharmed hours later.
The journalist Abdel Salam Abu Askar is a close associate of Fatah strongman Mohammad Dahlan.
The fighting is threatening to bring down the fragile unity government of Hamas and Fatah.
