Al Amin Chowdhury, a retired bureaucrat, was Bangladesh airline Biman's managing director in the 90’s.
In this exclusive interview with VOA Bangla Service, he discusses the recent decision of Bangladesh interim government of turning Bangladesh's national flag carrier the Bangladesn Biman into a public limited company with government controlling 100 percent of the state owned share until it becomes profitable and shares are floated into the open market.
Mr.Chowdhury also expressed his concerns about the process becoming, as the saying goes, ' The old wine in a new bottle'. He adds that ensuring at least 90 percent of airline seat usage will probably make an airline viable and obviously, profitable.
