Bangladesh has urged all private enterprises in the South Asian region to work together to build up a free trade zone area in the SAARC countries.
The speakers said this in the inauguration session of a Seminar held under the auspices of SAARC Chamber of Commerce and Industries said on Saturday in Dhaka. The seminar was on the liberalization of trade under South Asian Free Trade Agreement (SAFTA). Zaidi Sattar , the Senior Economist from the World Bank Dhaka office read out the key note speech.
In his inaugural speech the Finance Advisor of the caretaker government of Bangladesh Mirza Azizul Islam said a political will in the region is the most important to make sure that bilateral disputes do not enter into the process of SAFTA.
