Sri Lankan officials say three civilians and three Tamil Tiger rebels were killed in attacks on Sunday.
They say Tamil Tigers planted a roadside bomb that blew up a truck, killing three people in Thirukkovil. Separately, naval troops shot and killed three suspected rebels in Trincomalee.
The rebels have been fighting for an independent homeland for Sri Lanka's ethnic Tamil minority for 25 years. More than 65-thousand people have died in the conflict.
