Traces of formalin have been detected in fish which are sold in Bangladesh. Formalin is a chemical which is usually used to stop things from rotting. It is also used in human dead bodies.
Dr Harun al Rashid in this exclusive interview with VOA Bangla Service talks about the danger of formalin for human bodies because it reacts adversely on human cells.
He says that formalin is being used in Bangladesh indiscriminately in order to keep fish and vegetables fresh. Dr Rashid says that taking bigger amount of formalin can be fatal too.
