Currently, a political stalemate exists in West Bengal centering on the issue of industrialization and farming land. West Bengal and as well as India, in general, are watching carefully the issues of Tata’s car making factory in Singur and the events of Nandigram where tremendous public resentment arose on the question of land acquisition for SEZ project. People of the state are divided on this sensitive issue.
