Bangladesh Ambassador to UN  talks to VOA


A career diplomat from 1982 batch of Bangladesh civil service cadre, Ismat Jahan had her honors and masters from the department of economics in the University of Dhaka .

Later on she did her MA in Law & Diplomacy from Fletcher School, Tufts University, with cross-registered course works at Harvard University, Boston, USA. She also was a fellow in the school of foreign service, Georgetown University, USA . During her diplomatic career, Jahan served at Bangladesh Permanent Missions in New York and Geneva, Bangladesh High commission in New Delhi and Ambassador to the Netherlands. Prior to her appointment as Ambassador in the Netherlands, Jahan served as Director General of the International organizations, United Nations and Multilateral Economic Affairs Wings of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bangladesh.

In this exclusive interview with VOA Bangla Service Ismat Jahan , the Bangladesh Ambassador to UN ,amongst other things , talks about the changes in global politics over the last two decades. She also reflects on how Bangladesh has evolved through such diplomatic changes throughout the world.
