A rebel leader, entrusted with the task of spreading a Maoist organization's wings in the tea garden areas of north Bengal, was arrested from Jalpaiguri town Sunday.
Police said young Maoist leader Pradip Chatterjee was wanted for some time and the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) arrested him with firearms, ammunition, cash worth Rs.10000 and Maoist leaflets and literature.
He was produced before Jalpaiguri court and the court allowed the CID to keep him in remand for ten days.
