The Sri Lankan foreign minister is scheduled to visit Bangladesh on July 16 to hold bilateral talks and to receive the relic of Lord Buddha’s hair, kept in the Chittagong Buddhist temple, as a gift from Bangladesh.
Dhaka will present Colombo with the relic in a gesture of goodwill and friendship.
The Lankan foreign minister, Rohitha Bogollagama, will arrive in Dhaka on a three-day visit. He will be accompanied by his cabinet colleagues.
During his visit, Bogollagama will hold formal bilateral talks with the foreign affairs adviser, Iftekhar Ahmed Chowdhury.
