Water level in Jamuna, Padma and Meghna rivers have gone up and therefore some new areas of Sirajganj, Manikganj , Jamalpur , Rajbari , Munshiganj and Dhaka have now gone under water. Many people in Sirajganj, one of the worst affected parts of Bangladesh , are surrounded by water.
Army and civil administration have been conducting relief operation in the area. The Head of the caretaker government and the Army Chief , in the meantime, have visited some of the flood affected areas At least 81 people have so far been killed in floods across the country and the flood situation is likely to deteriorate further in the country's central parts as the water levels of all major rivers remain above the danger mark.
