Twin Bomb Blasts at Sivsagar


At least seventeen people were injured on Sunday in twin bomb blasts in Sibsagar District of Assam , which were allegedly triggered off by the banned United Liberation Front of Asom (ULFA).

The first blast took place in front of Sonari police station of the district, while the second occurred within ten minutes at a Sibsagar bus stand in which seven people were injured, a police official said. The improvised explosive device that triggered the second blast was hidden in a bicycle, police said. T

he second blast has also damaged a roadside hotel and the hotel manager was among the seriously injured, they added. Police said they suspected that ULFA's strikeforce, 28th battalion, was behind the blasts.
