Left Parties in India would Continue Opposing US-India Nuclear Treaty

The Left parties, led by the Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M), are set to be quite critical of the ruling United Progressive Alliance (UPA) when the proposed India-US nuclear deal comes up for discussion in the monsoon session of parliament.

A veteran leftist politician and the former Chief Minister of West Bengal Jyoti Basu says that although they will not withdraw support to Manomohan Singh’s government , they would continue their opposition to the deal which they think is done in US interest.
