Fifteen suspected al-Qaeda operatives have been arrested from Moreh town on the Manipur-Myanmar border by the Assam Rifles.
They have been brought to the Assam Rifles Headquarters in Manipur. Six men have admitted to working with the fianance and publicity wing of the al-Qaeda.
Of those arrested, eight are from Myanmar, six from Bangladesh and one is a Kuki tribal from Manipur. This is the first time that reported members of the al-Qaeda have been caught in India.Assam Rifles is carrying out search operations in Moreh.
