The West Bengal Government has sounded a high alert throughout the state as police tightened security following the terrorist attack in Hyderabad.
Official sources said a high level meeting held at the state secretariat reviewed the situation as security had been beefed up for protection of vital installations, including railway stations and important bridges.
While pre-emptive measures were being taken for the safety of passengers of long distance trains, a special warning had also been sounded against any possible terrorist threat to public places, including shopping malls and important markets.
