The dialogue between the Election Commission and the political parties in Bangladesh begins on Wednesday to finalize the draft of the electoral reform proposals.
The EC dialogue, which will continue until November, will also decide if transparent ballot box will be used in the next parliamentary elections. On the first day of the talks, the EC will hold discussion with Islami Oikya Jote.
The commission initially selected 15 political parties including the Awami League, BNP, Jamaat-e-Islami and Jatiya Party, to invite to its talks. A few more parties might be invited as they applied to the EC claiming their eligibility for joining the dialogue.
