On Wednesday , following Tsunami in Sumatra , Indonesia , authorities in Bangladesh issued Tsunami Alert in the coastal region of Bangladesh saying that Tsunami might hit the coastal parts of Bangladesh. Later, the warning was withdrawn late night.
Director of Weather office in Dhaka Samarendra Karmakar talks about the possibility of Tsunami hitting Bangladesh and how intense and dangerous that could be for Bangladesh.
He says that the possibility of Tsunami depends on how far away the earthquake which causes Tsunami has taken place but the Southern part of Sumatra , where the earthquake happened a couple of days ago is almost 3718 km away from Bangladesh. It also depends on how deep in the ocean , the earthquake. He mentions about some other factors too on which this is dependent.
