Indian PM Recovering From Surgery


Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh underwent surgery in the capital, New Delhi, on Saturday to treat a benign enlargement of his prostate gland.

The prime minister's office released a statement saying Mr. Singh "has had a stable post-operative course."

It added he will remain at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences until Monday to recover from the surgery.

Mr. Singh, who will turn 75 this month, has served as prime minister since May, 2004.
