Bangladesh Election Commissioner Muhammed Sohul Hussain told reporters that major political parties would receive their usual election symbols that they had been using in elections for a long time.
During the symbol allocation, each major political party would receive the priority in getting the symbol it had been using in elections for a while.
He said that the election symbols will be assigned to political parties permanently soon after they register with the Election Commission. The parties, however, will have to apply to receive their desired symbol to the EC.
