Awami League Begins Meeting their Partners in the Alliance


Awami League, one of the major political parties in Bangladesh which formed a 14 party alliance last year has begun meeting their partners in the alliance to chalk out a uniformed program to discuss reforms with the Election Commission in Bangladesh. The first meeting was held with the Worker’s Party at the house of Awami League’s acting Chief Zillur Rahman .

At the end of the meeting while talking to the journalists, Mr Rahman said that they have agreed to discuss with the Election Commission on the basis of their 31 point proposals on reforms. He said that in addition to discussing about women’s leadership and other issues , they have also called upon the election commission to relax the conditions for the registration of political parties.

In another development the general secretary of BNP Khandakar Delwar Hossain refused to comment on the new list of the alleged corrupt people although the Advisor to BNP’s chairperson , Hannan Shah had commented that there were many other corrupt politicians in BNP.
