Professor AQM Badruddoza Chowdhury, President of Bikalpa Dhara Bangladesh called for a “government of national consensus” for next ten years comprising all democratic and patriotic political parties that believe in common development programs.
Badruddoza Chowdhury said that in order to bring peace and prosperity in the country and to prevent strike, demonstrations, damage of public property and bloodshed in the post-election period, Bangladesh needs a government of national consensus for at least ten years.
The former president arranged an Iftar party in honor of leaders of political parties and civil society and diplomats. Many political party leaders including Awami League acting President Zillur Rahman, Jatiya Party chairman HM Ershad, Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal President Hasanul Haq Inu, and BNP leader Lt Gen Mir Shawkat Ali attended the Iftar party and showed support for Professor Chowdhury’s proposal of bringing unity among the political parties.
