The EC has, however, officially denied having said so and the Chief Election Commissioner added that no official decisions have been taken on this issue. He said that after reviewing the Constitution of BNP, the commission would invite only that group which constitutionally deserves to.

The Chief Election Commissioner Dr A T M Shamsul Huda said that the Election Commission would not like to be involved in any debate. Khanadakar Delwar Hossain claims to have the legal right to join the dialogue.

In the meantime, the other main party in Bangladesh , Awami League has already received the invitation from the election commission. The dialogue is scheduled to take place on November 4. The working Committee of the party will meet next Monday to decide the agenda for discussions with the Election Commission.
