On Tuesday West Bengal Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee defended the violent takeover of Nandigram by his party's cadre.
Speaking at a press conference Bhattacharjee said Trinamool Congress workers were paid back with their own coin. The Chief Minister complained that the Central government delayed dispatching the CRPF. He said that on November 5, the Central government told him that it could not send central forces immediately. He said that if the central forces arrived when he asked for it, what happened would not have happened.
