In an interview with Voice of America Bangla Service, Professor Rounaq Jahan, an eminent political scientist from Southern Asian Institute of Columbia University spoke about the Middle East Peace Conference being held in Annapolis, Maryland.
Professor Jahan reflects on the problems and prospects of this conference.
She says if all the parties, especially the United States take this seriously some positive outcome may occur. She feels, as it is, the conference is being held after seven years so there is no expectation that there will be a major breakthrough in the Middle East Peace process during this conference. However, it may help to establish a clear roadmap.
