Chief Adviser of Bangladesh caretaker government Dr. Fakhruddin Ahmed formally urged the international community to take a long-term holistic approach to help Bangladesh in facing the challenges of natural disaster that continue to grow in severity and frequency due to climate change.
He made the appeal while addressing first ever meeting with the High Commissioners, ambassadors and heads of missions at his office here after the November 15 devastating cyclone.
The Chief Adviser said strong international support is necessary to help Bangladesh meet environmental challenges. He also said that an ambitious approach and firm resolve to implement a large-scale, long-term solution is needed.
