The Afghan authorities today handed over the abducted BRAC official, Nurul Islam, to the officials of the organization in Kabul, a day after the security forces there obtained his release from three months of captivity in Logar province.
BRAC's public affairs and communications director M Anwarul Haq said that the Afghan authorities have formally handed him over to the BRAC officials in Kabul and he is now taking rest while doctors checked up his health.
BRAC officials earlier said Nurul Islam, 37, was under the safe custody of Afghan authorities after the security forces there obtained his release late night yesterday.
