Shahin Samad , a renowned singer and Tanvir Mokammel , a distinguished film maker looks at songs and movies on liberation war after 36 years of the liberation war. Shahin Samad joined the liberation war of Bangladesh as a singer in the cultural front.
She says that the songs which were sung during the War of Liberation were all dedicated to the war and was an unending source of inspiration. Shahin urges the historical importance of the song and says that these songs should be sung again and again. She says that recording companies could bring out a CD on the songs of liberation war in Bangladesh.
Tanvir Mokammel has made quite a few movies and documentaries on the liberation war of Bangladesh. Tanvir says that after 1985 , some of them from younger generation started talking about the liberation war and making movies on the war . He complains that unfortunately trhe War of Liberation is remarkably absent in the old stream of movies.
Tanvir says that they were making the movie in a politically adverse situation where the government was not supportive of projects like this but at the end what counted was their sincerity .
