A Dhaka court has rejected the bail petition of detained former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia in connection with the Niko graft case, as the case was filed under the Emergency Power Rules (EPR).
Judge Mohammad Azizul Haque of Metropolitan Sessions Judge's Court passed the order after defense lawyers submitted a petition seeking bail for Khaleda Zia. ACC Assistant Director Mahbubul Alam filed the Niko graft case against Khaleda Zia and four others on December 9 last year.
