The three-day 17th annual US Trade Show began in Dhaka on Wednesday.
The American Chamber of Commerce in Bangladesh and the United States embassy are cosponsoring the event at the Dhaka Sheraton Hotel. Sixty-one US companies are displaying their products and service at 91 booths in the show. Mahbub Jamil, special assistant to chief adviser, inaugurated the show as chief guest. He reiterated government’s assurance of holding the election by December, 2008.
Geeta Pasi, charge d' affaires of the United States embassy, Dhaka, said at the opening ceremony “We believe that the government’s implementation of election road-map and the commitment of a government to hold election this year are vital.”
