Abul Maal Abdul Muhith is an eminent economist, and a distinguished civil servant. After serving briefly in the Government of East Pakistan, he worked in Pakistan's Planning Commission, Cabinet Division and Embassy in USA.
Abul Maal Abdul Muhith was the first diplomat in Washington to switch allegiance and joined the Bangladesh Liberation War in June 1971. He was Economic Minister and Charge d'Affaires in Bangladesh Embassy in USA, became the first Alternate Executive Director of his country to the World Bank.
In an interview with Voice of America, Mr. Muhith spoke about the transition and those days in June of 1971.
