Bangladesh Foreign office in a statement expressed its disappointment over what it said was lack of balance in the US State Department's Human Rights Practices Report 2007 regarding Bangladesh. In the State Department’s report it was noted that the human rights condition in Bangladesh has worsened during the state of emergency.
Meanwhile, Bangladesh Home minister General (Rtd) MA Matin has dismissed findings of the US State Department's report saying "The state department cannot make such comments."
