Samina Chowdhury has been singing Bangla songs on Radio and TV in Bangladesh since the eighties .
Her father was a famous singer Mahmuddunnabi. Recently Samina’s CD came out in the market where she has sung the songs of her father. I
n this exclusive interview with VOA Bangla Service , Samina Chowdhury says that she was initiated into music by her parents. She says that she has sung her father’s songs because she wants the new generation of music fans to know her father.
She describes her emotions for her father who passed away quite a few years ago but was pleased that she was helping the audience to remember him. Talking about herself , Samina says that although she has not changed as a singer over the last couple of decades , she is now experimenting with music.
