Bangladesh is going through a crisis of rice supply. Rice being the staple food in Bangladesh is in great demand amongst all people. But the country has an acute shortage of rice , at least until the next Boro Crop is harvested.
Bangladesh has also failed to procure enough rice from neighboring countries because the supply of rice in the global context has gone down and the price has gone up. Some experts have termed it as Silent Famine while the food advisor in Bangladesh calls it Hidden Hunger.
Amidst the jugglery of jargons the country suffers badly and as this stringer has noticed in the market that the price of rice have gone up again forcing , not only the poor but also people from the middle class to queue up for cheaper rice being sold by markets set up by the Bangladesh Rifles.
