The British Home Secretary Jacqui Smith is expected to arrive in Dhaka midnight on a two-day official visit to Bangladesh.
She will discuss with the government various issues including the general election and ways to cooperate in counter-terrorism efforts in Bangladesh. This is Ms. Smith’s first visit to Bangladesh since she took office in June last year.
The British home secretary is scheduled to meet Chief Adviser Dr Fakhruddin Ahmed, Home Affairs Adviser Major General (Retd) MA Matin, Foreign Affairs Adviser Iftekhar A Chowdhury and Chief of Army Staff General Moeen U Ahmed during her visit.
