Daveed Gartenstein-Ross is the Vice President of a think-tank Foundation for the Defense of Democracies.
In an interview with Voice of America’s Bangla Service, Mr. Gartenstein-Ross reflects upon the challenges for Democracy in South Asian countries.
He said that the challenges are not only from the terrorists but also from poverty and the economic problems such as silent famine in Bangladesh and the rising prices of fuel all over the world.
Mr. Gartenstein-Ross also agrees with the CIA report that if there is any terrorist attack on the West, it would be from Pakistan. He is skeptical about the democracy in Pakistan and the curbing of the terrorism there.
In this interview he also talks about the election in Bhutan.
