The panchayat elections in West Bengal will be held on May 11, 14 and 18. The State government has issued a notification to this effect, a senior official of the State Election Commission said here on Monday.
Counting would be taken up on May 21. However a date for the withdrawing the nomination is under debate because the congress party wants the date to be changed. The state election Commissioner Ashok Gupta said that they are reviewing the situation. T
he last day for withdrawing the nomination is April 21 and on the same day Trinomul Congress has called for Bangla Bandh in protest of the price hike in West Bengal.
